I bought this product about a year ago for my children (now 3 & 2 years old). They got very little use out of it at first, other than tipping it over on one another. The "chalk board" part is difficult to write on. It is too slick or something for the chalk, even after I primed it. They really haven't noticed that part, though. It went together fairly easy, though you have to follow the instructions precisely! (And go in the exact order they have it in.) They like putting on silly shows now and like it when I put on shows for them. I wish it didn't tip, but at least it isn't heavy and doesn't hurt anyone when it falls. It is also rather large, so you probably want to think about where it will go, since once it is together, its together! (Doesn't fold or slightly come apart for storage.) The sides are cloth panels. I wasn't exactly expecting that, but it isn't a bad thing- I just didn't realize it until I took it out of the box! I also like that it has a clock on it, because the kids were suddenly interested in clocks and time! It has taken numerous tumbles and withstood the beatings that two toddlers can dish up. A year later and it still looks like new.

My son has really enjoyed this theater. It took a long time to receive it, (we live in hawaii), but happy we have it now. Like the chalk board and clock in front, as well as movable curtains. My son is 3, and this is really encouraging his imagination and story telling.

My 3-year old nephew loved the puppet theater that my husband and I bought him for his birthday. His parents and grandparents also raved about it. It sounded like it was relatively easy to put together and also sturdy. It was a great present which he will use and enjoy for years to come. The online reviews for it really helped us select this specific brand and model. I have also always been impressed with Melissa and Doug's products.

We are extremely pleased with this puppet theater. Our children ages 2.5 and 5 are enjoying using their vivid imaginations, as they create delightful puppets shows with Melissa and Doug's Deluxe Puppet Theater! The quality of the product is like that of all other Melissa and Doug purchases we have made, exceptional! It is vibrant, sturdy, has abundant space for two puppeteers to hide, as well as a wonderful chalkboard to announce the next show time! What a magnificent way to allow children to be creative, enjoy hands-on play and interact with one another and their "audiences"! This is well worth the price!

This puppet show theatre is much sturdier than the others I've seen, probably because it doesn't fold down. My 3 year old daughter loves it and I love that it allows her to be creative and make up her own stories. My 5 1/2 year old son wasn't really interested in it so it's probably more for ages 3-5.
